London Travel Guides
What started as two years in London to begin our careers, more than 6 years later we’re still here, bought a house and have no sign of leaving anytime soon! We quickly fell in love with the UK’s vibrant and bustling capital city. The diversity, the hustle and bustle, the food, the quirky pop-ups, the beautiful and unknown parks, the rooftop bars, the skyline viewpoints, the gorgeous colourful streets, the markets, the history, the canals…the list is endless!
We’ve spent the last 6 years getting out, exploring different neighbourhoods, discovering hidden gems and fun activities and this page is dedicated to sharing all of that information with you so, whether you live in London or you’re here for a visit, our guides will help you make the most of your time. From the iconic must-see landmarks of Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace to secret alleyways, London’s best breweries, Europe’s longest outdoor market and medieval bombed-out church ruins, these guides will tell you everything you need to know including how to get around, where to stay, the best time to visit, tips for avoiding crowds, money-saving tips and so much more!
One of our favourite things about London is how diverse it is with over a third of the city’s population originating from overseas. With this comes an incredibly diverse foodie scene from all four corners of the world suiting every budget. Head to Mayfair for high-end splashy restaurants, Shoreditch, Brixton and Walthamstow for quirky eateries, vibrant and colourful Chinatown for an epic dining experience whether it’s grab-and-go street food or sitting down for dim sum or head to London’s top foodie spot at Borough Market.
If the hustle and bustle of the city is getting a bit much, it’s so easy to escape. Over 20% of London is made up of trees so it’s technically classed as a forest and in fact, it’s one of the largest urban forests in the world! Skip the renowned Hyde Park and Regent’s Park and relax in the Old English Garden at Battersea Park, take a dip in Hampstead Heath’s swimming ponds before drying off with a view of the city from Parliament Hill or sit by the colourful Chinese pagoda overlooking Victoia Park Lake in the heart of East London (our favourite park in London). If you feel like really getting back to nature then head out to Epping Forest; an ancient woodland made up of wide-open grassland, shaded woods and tranquil ponds.
London is constantly changing. We’re continually visiting new areas, pop-ups, restaurants and activities and we love it. This page will continue to be updated with our discoveries, itineraries and advice so head to the blog posts below and start discovering the best of London!
