Escape to Morocco in one of the best restaurants in North West London.

Oasis Lounge London is an absolute hidden gem which makes you feel as though you’ve been transported straight to Morocco as soon as you step inside.

On arrival, you’re taken through the front of the restaurant, past the kitchen and out to a gorgeous hidden garden you would never know existed from the outside.

The decor is authentically Moroccan and completely stunning. Moroccan decor is characterised by vibrant colours, intricate patterns and elegant textiles. A blend of African, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean blended together creating a warm, exotic and inviting environment reflecting Morocco’s rich cultural heritage and love of craftsmanship.

And that’s exactly what Oasis Lounge London has created.

Bold and bright colourful textiles and patterns greet you as soon as you enter. Ornate mosaic tiles and plants and water features create a tranquil atmosphere and make you feel like you’re dining amongst nature.

Beautiful accessories are carefully arranged around the restaurant including intricate wood carvings, brightly coloured ceramic plates, pots, bowls, bags and woven baskets and authentic Moroccan lamps with ornate patterns hang from the ceiling or sit around this Moroccan restaurant in North West London.

The music played throughout the restaurant is Andalusi music which creates a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. It’s a fusion of Hispanic-Arab music styles and is found across North Africa, most notably in Morocco and Algeria.

Oasis Lounge London is a Moroccan family-run business providing an authentic and cultural dining experience. It’s one of the best Moroccan restaurants in North London with friendly and attentive service on top of delicious food.

If you’ve not had Moroccan food before, you’re seriously missing out. Moroccan is one of the best cuisines in the world!

Moroccan cuisine is a unique melting pot influenced by the diversity of nations and cultures over a long history of colonisation including the Berbers, Arabs, Moorish, Ottoman and French.

It isn’t spicy but uses a lot of spices to make it incredibly flavourful and regularly blurs the boundaries of sweet and savoury.

Our Review of Oasis Lounge London

Oasis Lounge London serves a combination of Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine beautifully flavoured with spices imported directly from Morocco. Choose from a menu of a variety of hot and cold mezze, tagines, stone-baked Berber-style pizza, chargrilled (mashwi) halal meat and fish.

We started our meal with a couple of drinks; a strawberry mojito mocktail and a green dragon juice; apple, carrot, cucumber and spinach. Both drinks were refreshing. The Mocktail was lovely, sweet and full of flavour, however, the green dragon juice didn’t taste of much. It’s healthier than the mocktail though containing a lot of sugar, so if you’re looking for a healthy drink, it’s a good option.

It's such a beautiful restaurant

To eat we shared three mezzes; the baba ganoush, a selection of briouats and the shakshuka, the lamb tagine and the chicken shawarma pizza. Also served with warm and fluffy homemade bread.

Let’s start with the mezzes.

The baba ganoush was delicious! Creamy, smoky, citrusy and totally authentic. Dipping the warm bread is a must! The baba ganoush for me was one of the highlights of this Moroccan restaurant in North West London.

Next up, the selection of briouats. So, a briouat for those who don’t know is puff pastry filled with meat, fish or shrimp mixed with cheese, lemon and pepper. They can also be sweet filled with almond or peanut paste and fried, dipped in warm honey.

We couldn’t decide between chicken, lamb or cheese so we ordered the selection. The lamb and cheese were so yummy. Full of flavour, crispy to bite into and soft and gooey on the inside. The chicken, while nice and flavourful, was quite dry. Not sure if this is how it usually is or if we were just unlucky with this batch.

The final mezze is the shakshuka which is mixed roasted peppers, fresh garlic and coriander. Another tasty dish that you could tell was really fresh and light. Lovely to dip the bread into.

The chicken shawarma pizza was interesting for sure! We felt a bit weird ordering pizza but these are authentic Berber-style pizzas. Prepared with the same dough used to make the bread which is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Our toppings were marinated chicken strips, pickled cucumbers, grilled peppers, parsley and garlic sauce.

The Berber-style pizza is so flavourful!

It tasted amazing. The soft and crispiness of the pizza really complemented each other. And all the ingredients worked so well together to provide so much flavour. The creaminess of the garlic sauce and the acidity of the pickled cucumbers was a delicious combination.

Again, however, we found the chicken to be quite dry. It may be better to avoid the chicken unless we were just unlucky with our two chicken dishes. Everything else we ate was incredible!

The lamb tagine is a must-try! So delicious and tender and the flavours are so authentic, you feel like you’ve been transported to Morocco. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and savoury.

After the mains, we shared a baklawa with ice cream and a pot of authentic Moroccan mint tea. Tea is the national icon of hospitality in Morocco. The baklawa was perfectly crispy and sweet and the tea was incredibly refreshing. The ideal combination after a lot of food.

As part of the authentic Moroccan dining experience, Oasis Lounge London serves a wide variety of Shisha including cherry, grape, peach, orange, guava, vanilla, watermelon, strawberry, skittles, pink lemonade, strawberry mojito and many more. Unfortunately, we were too full to try it but many others in the restaurant were enjoying it.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Oasis Lounge London. It’s definitely one of the best Moroccan restaurants in North London and we can’t wait to visit again.
